Options for Setting Up Website and External Incentives

Both types of review incentives you can create—website incentives and external incentives—share very similar options within the LISA admin. They're both managed under Reputation Manager > Review Incentives, as shown below.

Not sure about the difference between website incentives and external incentives? Then start with our article on the different types of review incentives you can create.

Below, you'll learn more about the options available for setting up each type of review incentive:

  • Website incentives
  • External incentives

Website Incentives

Website incentives are displayed on the Review page (located at /reviews/) and are designed to encourage customers to leave a review on your website.

As shown in the screenshot above, your options for creating or editing a website incentive include the following:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Disclaimer

Here's what these components look like when the website incentive is displayed on the Reviews page.

External Incentives

External incentives are displayed not on the Reviews page but on the Reviews Thank You page (located at /reviews/thank-you/). External incentives are designed to encourage customers who have just reviewed you on your website to take the additional step of reviewing you on a third-party website like Facebook.

Most of the settings for external incentives are exactly the same as website incentives, with the exception of the Review Rating option.

Review Rating

While regular website incentives are always shown on the Reviews page, you can choose to selectively display external incentives on the Review Thank You page by using the Review Rating scale.

By selecting 4+ stars (like the example below), only reviewers who rated you 4 or 5 stars will be shown the additional external incentive; reviewers with lower ratings will see a plain thank you page with no incentive.

By choosing to display the external incentive only for positive reviews, you'll make sure that you're encouraging reviews from happy customers rather than unhappy ones. This helps to build your reputation across all of your online properties and profiles.

Other Options

The rest of the options on the External Incentive page are the same as regular website incentives, including:
